Drunk lovers, sinners and saints in Hornchurch

What's happened?

Hornchurch 1 - 0 Dulwich Hamlet

Last Saturday (14th March) Dulwich Hamlet visited relegation-threatened Hornchurch. In keeping with recent form, Dulwich enjoyed plenty of the ball but struggled to create any clear-cut chances against their hosts. As a quiet first-half drew to a close, the feeling that it could be another disappointing afternoon slowly spread throughout the sizable away support (sizable in number, not waist-line).

Sure enough, after half-time substitute Shawn McCoulsky smashed a shot against the home side's crossbar, Dulwich conceded a penalty in the 71st minute following a mistimed challenge from captain Michael Kamara. Phil Wilson was sent the wrong way from the spot. 1-0.

Shortly after, McCoulsky was given a straight red card for a seemingly innocuous challenge. The ref's decision was met with a confusion from the DHFC bench that unfortunately developed into anger - Gavin Rose, Junior Kadi and Albert Jarrett (not long after he'd been substituted) all received red cards.

The final minutes saw Hornchurch push for a second but score they couldn't and the game finished 1-0 to the home side. Dulwich have lost 5 out of the last 7 league games, and have failed to score in 5 of those.

Football Beyond Borders FBBTV launch party

After Dulwich's game against East Thurrock, FBB will be launching their brand-new TV channel, FBBTV - Football Beyond Borders' new and exciting youth-led media channel. They will be screening the exclusive premiere of two short films that have been produced in conjunction with FBB's young participants and producers, featuring two of non-league football's finest clubs: Dulwich Hamlet FC and Clapton FC. The screenings will be followed by some fantastic live music & tunes from some very special guest DJs (TBC) so we can all have a dance and celebrate this exciting new project!

Those who attend the Dulwich home game against East Thurrock prior to the launch party receive free entry (and are asked to make a donation) - make sure you keep your match ticket as proof of purchase! Those not attending the game, but wanting to party with us and FBB, can buy tickets here.
